I love the holiday season just as much as anyone. The chance to spend more time with family and friends…and of course running, hiking in the hills, and perfecting my yoga poses! These gift guides will help you drop hints to your family or provide inspiration when you’re buying gifts for friends.

Many of the gifts in these guides are affordable ($20 or less). It’s fun buying presents for the runners in your life but there’s no need to get carried away. Affordable gifts people enjoy are better than splashing out on something that won’t be used.

There’s always a risk the runner will already have these items so I’ve tried to include some must-have gifts you can never have enough of. Things like headlamps which in our household always seem to go missing just when you need them most!

When you’re buying gifts for runners I find it’s best to stick to gear and gadgets. This way there’s no need to worry about sizing. If it’s running clothing, it tends to be stretchy and a little easier to fit.

Footwear can be a tricky purchase. Often runners will spend a lot of time and trial and error finding their favorite shoes. It’s best to find out their favorite brands and styles before splashing out.
For running gifts, energy bars, blister packs, and bath bombs make excellent stocking fillers. You won’t go far wrong with gloves and hats or safety lights to keep the runner safe. If the runner is into their nutrition, (or needs some encouragement), recipe books make great presents.
